World Children’s Day
20th November is World Children’s Day, UNICEF’s annual day of action for children. On this truly special occasion, we hosted an event in collaboration with the PCHF UOL Chapter, where we wanted to highlight the following: For every child, every right. Shaping a brighter future for all children should be the world’s topmost priority, and we are playing our part by ensuring world-class treatment for children with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) and paving the way to a normal life for them.
We are delighted that CHD affected families and children joined us, along with our Volunteer CEO, Mr. Farhan Ahmad and Director, Mr. Mujtaba Bhatti, and are grateful to our Guest of Honour, Mr. Kamran Iftikhar Lone, Education Manager Punjab UNICEF Pakistan, for the show of support and for enlightening us on what is being done through UNICEF for children in Pakistan. We are also especially thankful to PCHF Medical Advisory Board Member and renowned Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon, Dr. Salman A. Shah, and Mrs. Ammara Awais, UOL Dean of Student Affairs, for sharing what their journey alongside us has been like and what it means to them.
Lastly, to the PCHF UOL Chapter, the tremendous dedication and boundless energy you are putting into these events is inspirational and must be appreciated. From hosts to speakers to motivational videos to gifts and Rafi Peer Theatre puppetry for children, everyone in attendance, especially the CHD affected children and families, genuinely cherished the day’s proceedings.
