Project Danial
Project Danial
One of the main aims of PCHF is to help improve the local pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery infrastructure in Pakistan. In lieu of this, we are involved in organizing capacity building workshops in collaboration with hospitals/institutions in Pakistan, where CHD treatment is currently taking place.

PCHF is working closely with all major institutions in Pakistan that are involved in the treatment of CHD. PCHF aims to help these institutions improve their quality and capacity, ultimately helping build an infrastructure which can accommodate the huge disease burden of CHD in Pakistan.
Interventional Cardiology Workshop 2023 - Faisalabad
In August 2023, having Dr. M. Yasir Qureshi, Director of Fetal Cardiology at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester (Minnesota, USA), be a part of Project Danial is undoubtedly an honour for us, and an absolute privilege for everyone who got the opportunity to learn from someone who is known for developing novel cardiac imaging strategies in the field of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). We are especially thankful to the Armed Forces Institute Of Cardiology for collaborating with us to arrange this capacity-building session.
January 2024: An expert in cardiac imaging, Dr. M. Yasir Qureshi, led a talk on Tricuspid Regurgitation in Ebstein Anomaly, at the Armed Forces Institute Of Cardiology (AFIC), one of our partner hospitals, for local healthcare professionals.
September 2024: Mr. Theo van de Kerkhof conducted a capacity-building workshop at The Children’s Hospital UCHS, Lahore, titled, ‘Breaking Perception: The use of small range selected catheter curves during trans catheters Cath Lab treatment of children with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD)’. This was an invaluable opportunity for Pediatric Cardiologists and Pediatric Cath Lab staff (nurses, technicians & radiographers) to learn from a tremendously experienced Cath Lab technician who is the Director/Founder of Big Heart for Small Heart Foundation in the Netherlands and also Director/Owner of CareToConsult, a Medical Device Consultancy also involved in Humanitarian Mission Coordination.
September 2024: In partnership with the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology & National Institute of Heart Diseases (AFIC-NIHD), one of our partner hospitals for child heart treatment, we were able to successfully organize a capacity building workshop as part of our ongoing Project Danial, which is helping improve the pediatric cardiology infrastructure in Pakistan by providing local Pediatric Cardiologists the opportunity to work alongside internationally renowned doctors. It was led by Dr. Younes Boudjemline, a Senior Pediatric Cardiologist visiting from Doha, Qatar.
