Visit: Parents of ‘Aslan – The Heart Warrior’: Mr. Baqir Ali & Mrs. Namrah Baqir
Since our inception in 2012, we have gained the support of many distinguished individuals and prestigious organizations on our journey to conquering Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) in Pakistan. To add to our ever-growing, remarkable supporter base, are the parents of ‘Aslan – The Heart Warrior’, Mr. Baqir Ali & Mrs. Namrah Baqir. These are two tremendously inspirational individuals, who are doing their absolute utmost to help their son Aslan defeat CHD, the world’s most common birth defect. We are delighted beyond measure to now have them alongside us on our mission, to which we remain steadfastly committed.
It was an honour for our Volunteer CEO, Mr. Farhan Ahmad, to host and enlighten them about our cause. Along with visiting our very own Cardiac Care Centre at the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital (ULTH), which left a huge mark on them, they were also given an extensive tour of the construction site of our landmark project, Pakistan’s first dedicated Children’s Heart Hospital & Research Institute (CHHRI). They were informed in great detail about how this would be a state-of-the-art facility which will provide world-class care for ‘CHD Warriors’ like their son Aslan, and act as a model institute, for the training of healthcare professionals, education of the public at large and promoting research into the causes and management of CHD. We hope to emulate leading global institutions who share our vision, so that families affected by CHD in our country don’t have to travel abroad for treatment. In fact, we expect people from foreign countries to come to us after the formation of CHHRI.
When it comes to our goal, which is to ensure that not a single child suffering from CHD in Pakistan remains untreated, we need you, our phenomenal supporters, to continue spreading the word so that more exceptional people or institutions, who can help us shape a brighter future for families affected by CHD, are inspired to join us.
