Visit: Dr. Murtaza Shakir – Specialist: Surgical Oncology & General Surgery (USA)
It was an immense pleasure to host Dr. Murtaza Shakir, an Aga Khan University (AKU) graduate, who is now a specialist in Surgical Oncology & General Surgery in the USA. He met our Volunteer CEO, Mr. Farhan Ahmad, in Houston (Texas, USA) on one of our fundraising tours and has been supporting our cause tremendously.
After seeing the construction site of our history-making project, Pakistan’s first dedicated Children’s Heart Hospital & Research Institute (CHHRI), and the practical application of the funds we raised in the USA, he was full of praise for the progress we have made.
What also left a mark on him was our Cardiac Care Centre at the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital (ULTH). He met some of the children there and consequently left with the desire to do even more for our cause. He mentioned that he will urge others to support us as well, to help shape a brighter future for deserving children, their families, and ultimately the entire nation.
When it comes to our goal, which is to ensure that not a single child suffering from CHD in Pakistan remains untreated, we need you, our phenomenal supporters, to continue spreading the word so that more exceptional people or institutions, who can help us shape a brighter future for families affected by CHD, are inspired to join us.
