Dr. Babar Hasan Biography

Dr. Babar Hasan completed his medical degree from the Aga Khan University in 1999. He then did his pediatric residency from Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by a Fellowship in general pediatric cardiology, advanced cardiac imaging, and interventional cardiology from, Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

He is a Diplomate – American Board of Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology. Dr. Hasan is the former Service Line Chief, Children’s Hospital at AKU. He has experience in clinical services, education, and research. His areas of research interest are developing quality metrics and role of value-based healthcare in low-middle income countries (LMICs). Additionally, he has an interest in use of artificial intelligence (AI) in LMICs with the purpose of task sharing and intelligence augmentation of low skilled healthcare providers like lady and community health workers.

He has been involved in establishing the PCHF Research Division and is actively involved in guiding the direction of research being carried out.
