Skardu, GB – CHD Screening Camp
We successfully completed our first CHD screening camp in Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan. Our Volunteer Team, alongside UOL relief doctors and volunteers, held Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) screening and general medical camps in 4 districts in and around Skardu, including the Shigar, Khaplu and Kharmang districts. The camp was a resounding success, as over 50 CHD patients were identified and counselled. This was the first, and a major, step in getting these patients CHD treatment.
Legendary Pakistani cricketer, Misbah Ul Haq, has also joined us on the journey to conquering CHD in Pakistan, by helping build the nation’s first dedicated, state-of-the-art Children’s Heart Hospital and Research Institute (CHHRI).
