Misbah Ul Haq: My Second Innings
Legendary Pakistani cricketer, and the current coach of the national cricket team, Misbah Ul Haq, is presently on a tour to South Africa. An extremely successful tour so far, leading us to an impressive ODI series victory. Thus becoming the first team from Asia to win multiple bilateral series in South Africa. The T20 series is going no differently, as yesterday we regained a 2-1 lead, and with just one match remaining, cannot lose the series. With the T20 World Cup looming, this series has provided the team, especially the batsman, with a major confidence boost. Twice we have now broken the record for our highest successful run chase in T20s. The coach’s immense impact on the team is undeniable.
Back here in Lahore, we at Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation (PCHF), are playing his second innings along with him. 1 in 100 children are born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD), and since 2018, Misbah Ul Haq has been with us on the journey to conquering CHD in Pakistan. One of his close friends experienced tremendous difficulty in getting CHD treatment for his child. That’s when he decided to work for our cause, which is to make sure that not a single child suffering from CHD in Pakistan remains untreated.
Together, we plan on building Pakistan’s first, dedicated, state-of-the-art Children’s Heart Hospital & Research Institute (CHHRI). This facility shall provide the highest quality of care for children with heart disease, irrespective of their financial means. It will also act as a model institute for the training of healthcare professionals, education of the public at large, and promoting research into the causes, and management, of CHD.
This Ramadan, we would like to humbly request you to let your Zakat ease the anguish of children suffering from CHD.
