
Capacity-Building Workshop For Complex Pediatric Cardiac Surgeries
In partnership with the Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PIC), Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation (PCHF) was able to successfully carry out a capacity-building workshop for complex pediatric cardiac surgeries as a part of their ongoing Project Danial’, which is helping improve the pediatric cardiology infrastructure in Pakistan by providing local healthcare professionals the opportunity to work alongside internationally renowned doctors.
The team of doctors from PIC included Dr. Ijaz Hussain – Professor & HoD of Pediatric Cardiology and Dr. Mujeeb ur Rehman – Assistant Professor Pediatric Cardiac Surgery. They were joined by the Vietnamese team from University Medical Center Ho Chi Minh City, which included Dr. Cao Dang Khang – Professor Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Dr. Ly Hoang Anh – Consultant & Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon and Dr. Hoang Quoc Trung – Consultant & Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Intensivist. During the workshop that took place from 23rd to 30th August 2025, a total of 14 patients underwent life-saving treatment.
